The Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) is Denmark’s official development cooperation agency and is an area of activity under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It concentrates on four strategic priority areas to contribute combating poverty and to promote human rights. These four key areas are:

  • Human rights and democracy;
  • Green growth;
  • Social progress; and
  • Stability and protection.

DANIDA focusses its bilateral assistance on a limited number of partner countries and sectors, while multilateral assistance is mainly granted through the EU, the UN, the World Bank and the regional development banks.
