The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), within the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA); and State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), within the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research (EAER) are responsible for Switzerland’s international development cooperation.
Whereas the SDC is responsible for the humanitarian aid delivered by the Swiss Confederation SECO’s support, focussing on advanced developing countries, includes:
- Macroeconomic support;
- Infrastructure financing;
- Trade promotion; and
- Private sector promotion.
In addition, SECO’s three horizontal divisions cover:
- Multilateral co-operation with international financial institutions;
- Enlargement contribution; and
- Evaluation and controlling.
